Mission Report:
Thoughts and reflections from the team who went to see Lifetime Missionary,Suzy McCall at The LAMB Institute in Tegucigalpa, Honduras
A small band of St. Philippians traveled to Honduras the end of September for a number of reasons. We were there to help LAMB celebrate Suzy's 50th birthday which was a holy and grand affair. We were there for the dedication of the first two cottages at the new God's Littlest Lambs Childrens Home. All forty-four of the children had moved out just less than a week before our arrival. We were there to roll up our sleeves and help out at the building site at the children's home. Lastly, we were there..just to be there.to see what God is doing and to communicate to Suzy, the teachers, staff, and all the children that we love them and are committed to praying for them.
Here are just some of what team members said as we returned:

I was so excited to see what had changed since the last time I was in Honduras. I wasn't really unprepared, but was still completely blown away by everything that "God hath wrought" through Suzy and her ministry. The sheer scope of the school, nursery, and San Buenaventura (where the children's home is) was amazing..the evidence of God's presence and blessings on all these ventures is incredible.I feel very challenged to make my faith more effective and directed, not just to be but to do, following the still, small voice of God.

It was quite overwhelming to visit the school as the children put on their program. My impression was that this is the future of Honduras. These children are being loved and educated (in knowledge and spirit). One person's (Suzy's) obedience has changed many lives. I was also impressed with how many people around Suzy are ?sold out' for the Lord..It was exactly as I had been told: one receives much more than one gives when on one of these trips.

Seeing the impact that the LAMB Institute is making on such a poverty stricken city like Tegucigalpa is like seeing that first green sprout that appears after an area has been devastated by fire. It shows the promise of things to come and gives you the belief that one day the work started here will spread far and wide.

I have loved and appreciated the LAMB ministry for many years, but can definitely say that having the opportunity to participate in a mission trip (there) has given me a deeper understanding of all that it represents. The heart of the ministry is so pure! Jesus Christ is working through the leadership of Suzy McCall and the ministry.

I was especially touched by one particular girl named Leticia. She and her two sisters and brother just arrived at the children's home one week before we arrived. After having both parents die of AIDS and having just been taken in by the staff at the children's home, Leticia still had such a joyful spirit..Leticia gave me the only valuable thing she owned--a bracelet--which reminded me so much of the widow's mite. Leticia is only one precious example out of 44 children.each one with a different story. Praise God that they have a chance in this life--not to be without food, shelter, and love.

I am truly humbled by the experience of witnessing a real life miracle as it happens..the challenge is for me to truly seek to learn more of Jesus and to deepen my desire to be like Him..to love more and complain less. I want to strive to see Him in each person I meet regardless of race or background. This I have seen in Suzy!
Suzy McCall will be at St. Philip's on World Mission Sunday, February 10th as preacher at both services as well as for adult forum. Please spread the word. You won't want to miss it!
