A Heartfelt Thank You to Our September Saturday Serve Team!
This past Saturday, fourteen dedicated St. Philip’s volunteers came together to show their love and support for our Star Gospel Mission, one of our Home Mission partners. With joy and determination, the team worked to repaint and refresh the central hallway, bringing new life to the mission’s facilities. It may not have been the most glamorous task, but the impact was undeniable! Thanks to their hard work and four gallons of fresh paint, the space is now brighter and more welcoming for everyone who walks through those doors.
In addition to serving, our team was blessed to meet the incredible staff and guests at Star Gospel Mission. The Reverend Dr. Marion Platt III, Executive Director and Pastor, graciously gave us a tour of the facility, sharing the exciting plans for their ambitious development project. This effort will more than triple the life-changing support they provide to men transitioning out of homelessness.
Hope Wells, Star Gospel’s Volunteer Engagement Coordinator, expressed her deep gratitude, saying, “The Mission looks amazing, and it’s all thanks to your hard work and dedication. We are so blessed to have St. Philip’s support!” Dr. Platt added, “Thank you so much for your steadfast support for those we serve at Star Gospel Mission.”
