Dufatanye Organization Director To Visit St. Philip’s
One of our world mission partners is the Dufatanye Organization (DO) in Rwanda, a truly amazing Christian organization which is improving the lives of widows, orphans, and families in impoverished communities, many of whom are suffering as a result of genocide and AIDS. The founder and director, Karema Godfrey, will be visiting the States over the next couple of weeks and will be in church with us on Wednesday, November 20, and Sunday, November 24. While he’s in the States, Mr. Karema (who goes by “Godfrey”) will also be attending an international agricultural conference in Fort Meyers, Florida. The conference is hosted by ECHO, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to demonstrating the Gospel in Word and seed by creating self-sustainable hunger scolutions for small-scale farmers and offering hands-on training around the world, with global resources and guidance available through online community.
We will be blessed to have Godfrey in Charleston for some of his time here. As many of you know from the beautiful inSPIRE articles from Martha Vetter, the DO ministry has become increasingly expansive, with now up to nine Villages of Hope flourishing with fifteen fish farms, banana and fruit trees, sustainable agricultural practices, clean water, sanitation initiatives, and so much more.
Please look for Godfrey next week, and give him a warm St. Philip’s welcome. He is a kind, engaging, diligent servant of Christ who is accomplishing meaningful things for the Kingdom. We are excited that the World Missions Team will get to see him in person at our next meeting and hear firsthand what the Lord continues to accomplish through the Dufatanye Organization.
