House of Prayer: October Prayer Points

“My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.” ––Isaiah 56:7
Answered Prayers and Thanksgivings (Thank You, Lord):
1. For reaching the Phase One goal of the Shine the Light Campaign. 2. For the donations for St. Philip’s classical Christian school to be established on our campus. 3. For a strong beginning for the union of St. John’s Chapel and Holy Trinity Anglican Church. 4. For Charleston’s protection from the recent hurricanes. 5. For the classical Christian school planning committee and its subcommittees. 6. For Chris Walchesky, Paul Reese, Zippy Hood, the choir, and the praise team. 7. For our clergy, staff, and Vestry. 8. For the increased attendance of our Wednesday night services. 9. For the young adult brunch, especially for Robert Dickson’s singing for the event. 10. For the successful home goods drive and Saturday Serve at Hope to Home. 11. For Water Mission’s work in western North Carolina and the support our parish family provided. 12. For a beautiful start to a new season of Evensong outreach, which will now be on Second Sundays. We pray these service will be well-attended and a success for expanding the Kingdom through worship.
Prayer Points: Local Needs
1. For those affected by the hurricanes to receive the help, provisions, and especially warm clothing as cold weather is upon them in the mountains. For the massive clean-up challenges facing each community. 2. For the upcoming investiture of the Most Reverend Steve Wood, the new Archbishop of the Anglican Church in North America. Pray the evening will be a glorious celebration pleasing to the Lord. For our choir leading worship at the event. 3. For continued blessings upon our clergy and their families. May you give each of them wisdom and new vision for the new season at St. Philip’s. 4. For the spiritual gifts class to be well-attended and for those attending to find their place in the ministries at St. Philip’s. Blessings upon the coaches that will be helping them. 5. For all the Bible studies to be well attended. 6. For the ECW fall luncheon to be well attended. Blessings upon the speaker, Tara L. Banks. 7. For wisdom for the group working on the Union Pier property plans as well as the plans for the American Gardens, a park between Meeting and King Streets with a planned 2025 opening. 8. For safety for the children as they go through the neighborhoods on Halloween.
Prayer Points for the Nations
Ukraine: 1. For a peaceful solution and end to the war in Ukraine. For wisdom for those working toward this. 2. For Putin and Zelinski to be able to agree to a ceasefire.
Haiti: 1. For the Kenyan soldiers to be victorious in stopping the gang violence. 2. For comfort for the families that have lost loved ones to the gangs (death toll rose to 115 in a small Haitian town). 3. For the additional help needed to bring peace and necessary supplies to the people.
Israel: 1. For peace in Gaza and for all hostages to be found and released. 2. For peace in Lebanon. 3. For protection for Israel and peace within the walls of Jerusalem. 4. For mercy for all of the people displaced in these multiple war zones. Get the necessary supplies to them, Lord.
USA: 1. For the upcoming elections to be fair and for God’s choices to prevail in all of the races: Presidential, House, and Senate. For the volunteers working the polls to be safe and to be a blessing. 2. For solutions to the immigration problems. 3. For exposure of the various evil things going on: human trafficking, drugs pouring in, the plans being developed by terrorists.
The Nehemiah/Ezra Prayer Points:
1. Continue to pray that no enemy of Christ can come through the gates of St. Philip’s.
2. Pray for those working from the scaffolding to be safe. May they each have the talent and gifts for the portion they are working on. Bless them and their families.
Continue to pray for our country. Have mercy, Lord. Bring revival soon.
