Teamwork Makes the Dream Work at the H2H October Saturday Serve

News--H2H Saturday Serve 2024

THANK YOU to the 27 folks who gave up their Saturday morning to bring Christ’s hope to five families as the deliveries of furniture and home goods changed apartments into homes. St. Philip’s volunteers divided into four groups.

Eight folks helped load furniture and home goods into a truck and then piled in cars and caravanned to five different apartments to deliver and set up items and pray with recipients. Abby Wolitzer commented, “It was such a reward to see the smiles as the furnishings were arranged in the homes. Such a touching experience to circle around as a group and pray together as we blessed the home and the recipients!”

Malcolm Rhodes led a group of six men who refinished and repaired furniture, one of whom was heard saying, “I don’t have any experience refinishing or any skill in repairing”––yet he was seen enjoying refinishing a piece. A special thanks to Maxwell Steinhardt, who was out of town for Saturday Serve but made two tables and sent them ahead so our group could refinish them.

Barbara Spell led a group of ladies who put together 176 towel kits from the St. Philip’s Hope to Home home goods drive donations, chatting and laughing as they made new friends all the while.

Becky Barber and Stephanie Reid led a group making kitchen kits with St Philip’s donations, and Pam Paroli helped organize warehouse donations and make linen kits.

All had a wonderful time of fellowshipping and serving our Lord at Hope to Home!
