Barbara Boatwright

 About the speaker:

Barbara graduated with honors from Vanderbilt University with a degree in psychology and special education. She worked as a behavior specialist in Memphis, Tennessee, prior to completing her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Memphis. After an internship with the Department of Psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina, Barbara worked at the Atlanta Counseling Center, where she was introduced to the integration of biblical truth into clinical psychology.

Barbara maintained a private practice in Mt Pleasant for over thirty years and founded Life Resources in 2010 to provide a community mental health resource rooted in her passion of Christian integrated therapy. She no longer personally sees clients so that she can focus her clinical experience in training clinicians who wish to develop their skills in bringing the healing power of Jesus Christ into the counseling room.

Barbara is married to Dr. John Boatwright and they have two adult children. She has enjoyed numerous speaking engagements over the years and speaks on topics such as the integration of science and biblical truth, marriage, parenting, forgiveness, and our image of God. In her spare time, Barbara enjoys travel, golf, and spending quality time with family and friends.
