About the speaker: Allen “Gantt” Folline III was born in Charlotte, NC, and grew up in Columbia, SC. After graduating from The Citadel in 1991, he moved back to Columbia, where he got his first job in sales for Business Telecommunications, Inc. In 1993, he met Danielle Green, who was a graduate student at the University of South Carolina. They married in 1997 and moved to Mt. Pleasant that same year, where he worked as a commercial real estate agent and property manager for Colliers Keenan. In 2001, Gantt shifted his focus to commercial real estate appraisal services, beginning a new career with Paul K. Moore & Associates, Inc., just after he and Danielle welcomed their daughter Frances, who is now a junior at Clemson. Their daughter Elizabeth, born in 2004, will be a freshman at the University of South Carolina in the fall.

Gantt’s faith was grounded by his grandfather, who sold his hardware business and went into the ministry at age 40, and the influence he had on Gantt’s mother. Gantt's paternal grandparents were also active parishioners throughout their lives, which had a positive impact on his father. And yet, even though Gantt was baptized by his own grandfather and grew up going to church every Sunday, often sitting in the same pew every week for services and enjoying “Lemonade on the Lawn” after church in the spring and summer, it wasn’t until he came to St. Philip’s about 12 years ago that he began to experience a real relationship with Jesus, the Christ. Particularly through the Bible studies offered each week, he has come to realize that his entire life is directly tied to His life, and He is his source, life, and way, and that everything is in alignment with His master story from beginning to end.

In 2015, Gantt formed his own commercial real estate appraisal business, Folline Commercial Appraisal & Consulting, LLC. He has been very blessed over the years to have a steady flow of work, and he thanks God every day and prays for continued blessings, guidance, and direction from Him each morning.
