A note from Gantt Folline (Citadel ’91): The Home Missions Team has agreed to sponsor a meal for the upcoming chapel services at The Citadel at Summerall Chapel for St. Alban’s Anglican Chapel on Monday, October 16. St. Alban’s is a college ministry that has operated for many decades on campus (the only public college institution with an Anglican ministry on site), spreading the Gospel to college-aged students and cadets.  Many lives have been touched and saved through this college ministry, and St. Philip’s Church members have an opportunity to witness, too.

We are looking for a few people to volunteer alongside some Home Missions Team members to help serve a meal prior to the 6:30 service on Monday. Our own Chef Connie Stahl is preparing the meal, which we will transporting to Summerall Chapel.

This is an excellent opportunity to help spread the Gospel by being present to witness to young students/cadets. Most of the churches in our diocese are rotating throughout the year to help St. Alban’s defray some of their food expenses. This also helps the chaplain and his assistants have time to prepare for the chapel service, and it gives some perspective to the cadets in attendance that the mother church and many of the other churches in the diocese are present and care about their interest and/or commitment to learning more about the Gospel and Jesus Christ.

Also, we get to witness to the cadets about St. Philip’s Church itself, to let them know where we are and even to invite them to attend on a Sunday morning to hear the Good News preached from our excellent clergy, and to see our beautiful, historic house of worship.
