Florance Anderson and Pat Gould Honored at Reception

Alabaster Floral Wedding Invitation (4.875 × 6.905 in) (310 × 200 px)

On Sunday, October 2, we celebrated the ministry and retirement of Audio/Visual Coordinator Florance Anderson and Organist and Choirmaster Pat Gould with a beautiful reception in the Parish Hall.

O God of peace, who hast taught us that in returning and rest we shall be saved, in quietness and in confidence shall be our strength: By the might of thy Spirit lift us, we pray thee, to thy presence, where we may be still and know that thou art God; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

A note from Florance Anderson:

A fun retirement begins with a reception like the one Pat and I were given. Standing up there on the stage with Jeff giving kudos to me for working behind the scenes for audio/visual events, I felt like I was a celebrity––instead of our clergy, A.K.A. the new TV evangelists. All kidding aside, I really appreciate everyone who helped with all the personal details, from favorite flowers and favorite hors d’oeuvres to the Happy Retirement Cupcakes display. I really enjoyed having the chance to talk with so many Christian friends. Thank you so much!

A note from Pat Gould:

The reception Sunday after church for Florance and me was truly wonderful. The tables were laden with beautiful displays of yummy treats. Unfortunately I never got to eat anything but thoroughly enjoyed talking to my great friends—plus I made many new friends.

Thank you to all who worked tirelessly to arrange such a lovely reception—such a quick turnaround after Rector’s Forum. A special thank you to Connie Stahl and Ben Singleton for their great work.

Thank you also to Jeff Miller for the wonderful things he had to say about our many years of serving God together. It has been a true joy as I worshipped through music. I am greatly blessed to have served with you all at St Philip’s! I look forward to many more years of worshipping together. To God be the glory!
