The Angel Trees Will Be Lighting Up the Narthex Soon!

News--Gift Card Trees Oyster

The Home Missions Team humbly and joyfully invites you to take part in the St. Philip’s Angel Tree project, which will offer hope and encouragement to those in need in our community. This year, three of our ministry partners will be represented on the Angel Trees: Lowcountry Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), Lowcountry Pregnancy Center, and Star Gospel Mission.

The trees will be decorated with ornaments, which serve as a “thank you” from the Home Missions Team––please keep your ornament and add it to your tree at home! Ornaments will have a tag attached with the name of one of our ministry partners and instructions for making your donation. In order to best meet the needs of those they serve, our ministry partners are offering a few different ways of giving:

• Star Gospel Mission: Purchase $25-gift card(s) from Walmart

• Lowcountry Pregnancy Center: Purchase item(s) on Amazon Wish List (QR code and website will be provided on your Angel Tree ornament tag)

• Lowcountry FCA: Make a donation using the QR code or website provided on your Angel Tree ornament tag. Please be sure to note “St. Philip’s Angel Tree” in the “Dedicate this donation” prompt on the FCA donation page.

Volunteers will be assisting with ornaments, scanning QR codes, collecting gift cards, and answering questions in the narthex before and after Sunday services November 26–December 17, as well as the November 29–December 13 Wednesday night services. If you miss the December 17 deadline, you may deliver your gift card(s) to the church office by 9:00 am on Monday, December 18.

Thank you for your continued support of all the Home Missions ministry partners! Thanks be to God! The Home Missions Team would also like to acknowledge and thank the St. Philip’s Flower Guild for their generosity in donating the Angel Trees.

In addition to serving as a tangible reminder to the recipients that God loves them and they are not forgotten, your Angel Tree gift will bless them in other ways:

Lowcountry Pregnancy Center:

The Amazon Wish List created by St. Philip’s is a wonderful way to truly meet the specific needs of our clients. Items such as car seats, Pack-n-Plays, diapers, wipes, and baby wash are a tremendous blessing in supporting our moms and babies with the tangible needs they have, given their limited resources. Your support encourages each and every one of our families as they see the love of Christ manifested in your giving.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generous support!

Lowcountry Fellowship of Christian Athletes

Each year ratings have been recorded, FCA has received the highest available (four stars) through Charity Navigator. We seek to steward well every gift entrusted to our ministry. Our primary financial needs center around sending local missionaries to serve through the platform of sports. At this time, we have twelve full- and part-time staff on mission to the Lowcountry. Each member of our team also seeks to raise support in an effort to supply local campuses, students, and coaches with Bibles, devotional materials, and camp scholarships. What a privilege it is to partner for the Gospel with faithful people like you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!

Star Gospel Mission

We use cards from Walmart to provide assistance to Mission Guests “non-consumables” such as undergarments, work clothes, tools, fuel, etc.  Moreover - those cards are helpful to families who come to the Mission in search of assistance with school clothes, diapers, and shoes.  We are so grateful for this kind of assistance from St. Philip’s - as it helps us serve people with dignity and grace. We love seeing the joy on our guests’ and clients’ faces when they receive this help. Thanks so much, friends!
