Updated Donation and Volunteer Needs

News--Tricounty Family Ministries
Hello, Tricounty community.

This past week we served record numbers of families. On Wednesday, we saw 186 families and at our first Second Saturday food distribution, we saw 73 families. We were blessed to be able to support so many families – over 800 people in their households!

But now our food panty shelves are bare. We expect to receive black beans and cereal from the Food Bank this week. We are relying on you to provide other nutritious food.

Needs this week:
Peanut butter
Canned fruit (peaches, fruit cocktail)
Canned vegetables (sweet peas, corn, green beans)
Canned meats (tuna, chicken, beef stew)
AND
Deodorant
Toothpaste
Soap

We can receive your donations on Tuesdays or Thursdays, 12:00 – 2:00.

Volunteer on Tuesdays & Wednesdays as well as Second Saturdays:
We’re in need of volunteers age 16 and older to help bag groceries and distribute food. Volunteers 15 and younger need to be accompanied by an adult - we would love to set up workdays for groups.

Sign up here:
Tuesday Grocery Bagging, 10 – 12 & 12 – 1:30

Wednesday Food Distribution 9:45 – 1:30

Second Saturday Food Distribution 9:00 – 12:30

Help needed bagging clothes to distribute to clients:
We are looking for a way to provide needed clothing to our neighbors in need. We have plenty of clothing on the racks. We need to put those items in bags and label them with sizes so we can quickly share them during our distribution events each week. This would be a great project for a family or a couple looking for a way to spend a couple of hours at Tricounty making a difference. Please email me if you are interested in helping with this project.

Bring us your empty egg cartons.
Sometimes, the eggs that are donated to us break en route. We can still salvage some of the eggs in the carton to distribute to our neighbors, but we need empty, clean cartons to do that.

We will close the week before the Fourth of July:
Mindful of the emotional and physical toll of ministry during emergencies, we have decided to close from June 29 – July 3. We would appreciate your prayers for all of us who continue to give of ourselves, that we would be given the strength and vision to follow God’s call in the coming weeks and months.

Our weekly schedule:
Tuesdays and Thursdays 12-2: Donations accepted
Wednesdays 11-1: Food Distribution
Mondays and Fridays: office closed
Second Saturday of each month, 10-12: Food Distribution

Thank you so much for your partnership in this important work!

Blessings,
Kara
